My name is William J. Hansen, Ph.D., and I am a licensed clinical psychologist in the State of Ohio, and licensed pending in the State of Illinois. For the past 20 years I have called Cincinnati my home, and I relished the time I spent in the Queen City.
After spending almost two decades providing clinical psychology services to children, adolescents, adults and families at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and University Psychiatric Services at the University of Cincinnati, and Montgomery Professional Associates, I am pleased to announce that I have relocated to Chicago Illinois, the Windy City; the home of the Chicago Cubs, and the best Pizza on the planet.
My objective is to continue my career in child psychology in this city. My goal is to find a position where I can provide psychological assessment and therapy to children, adolescents, adults, and of course, families.
I treat a wide variety of mental health issues including anxiety spectrum disorders, depression, grief counseling, adjustment disorders, autistic spectrum disorders, including Aspergers, ADHD, PTSD, and OCD. I primary utilize a cognitive behavioral therapy modality (CBT), an empirically based treatment. Psychodynamic psychotherapy, and family therapy modalities are also employed.
I received a Bachelors Degree from Lake Forest College, in Lake Forest Illinois, where I graduated with honors. I earned a Masters degree and a Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from the California School of Professional Psychology in Fresno California. I completed a pre-doctoral internship at Mount Sinai Hospital in Hartford Connecticut, and a post doctoral fellowship at KAISER Permanente Medical Center, in Santa Rosa California.
Most importantly, I am the proud father of a 19 year old daughter, and a 17 year old son.
